David Whann Jr., MBA, RS, EBP

Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

David graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and a Master's Degree in Business Administration. Some key information to know about his experience:

10 Years in the Capital Planning and Reserve Study Industry!
Started his career as an intern but by the time he left his prior company to co-found Prime Reserve Planning, he was the acting national Director of Operations. In his time with that company, he:
- Completed over 500 Reserve Studies nationwide, including Structural Integrity Reserve Studies (SIRS) in Florida!
- Experience with nearly every property type, including expansive HOAs, industrial storage buildings, complex high-rise condominium buildings, office complexes, museums, multi-course country clubs, marinas, and even a private island!
- Created educational and training material for nationwide staff!
- Oversaw and enhanced internal systems for creation of Reserve Studies!
- Trained Project Managers and Presidents to become Reserve Specialists!
- Established internal quality standards within multiple regional offices!
- Reviewed/confirmed quality of over 100 Reserve Studies for other Project Managers!
- Educational presence, including including virtual webinars and in-person at the 2025 Annual CAI Conference & Exposition!

David co-founded Prime Reserve Planning because he believes more value could be provided to each and every client served in the Reserve Study industry. No property should receive a "copy and paste" report, so his commitment is to establishing the highest quality of capital planning and Reserve Study reports tailored to your specific property's needs!

Jake graduated from Trine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Some key information to know about his experience:

Over 4 Years in the Capital Planning and Reserve Study Industry!
Co-Founder of Prime Reserve Planning
Completed over 250 Reserve Studies for a wide range of property types across the United States!
Experience includes work with various HOA's, low-rise to high-rise condominiums, assisted living facilities, country clubs, timeshare and resort properties, and worship facilities!
Developed specialized tools and worksheets for creating Reserve Studies!
With prior company, Jake has trained multiple co-workers on how to produce and execute large brand-name timeshare properties' Reserve Studies!
Regularly presents Reserve Study findings and long-term capital plans to association Boards and their Property Management teams!
His background in the construction industry provides valuable insight into buildings systems, project costs, and long term maintenance planning!

Shawn graduated from Trine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a minor in Structural Engineering. Some key information to know about his experience:

Shawn believes the purpose of a reserve study is to help communities think beyond the next budget cycle and plan for decades ahead. By translating complex reserve planning into clear and practical strategies, he helps boards preserve their infrastructure, maintain property values, and build financially stable communities that will continue to thrive for the next generation.
